708,228. Accelerometers. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd. Oct. 9, 1952, No. 25323/52. Class 40 (1). An accelerometer comprises an evacuated glass vessel 1 containing a blob of mercury 2 adapted to move. along electric wire resistors 3, 4 upon acceleration of the vessel and so vary the resistance between the ends 6 of the wires according to the acceleration. The acceleration may be indicated on an oscilloscope or recorded.
