706,442. Bobbins. G. & E. EQUIPMENT & CONTRACTS, Ltd. Nov. 10, 1952 [Nov. 9, 1951], No. 26313/51. Class 120(3) A bobbin of thermoplastic material e.g. polythene, comprises a driving flange in which is moulded metal insert, to take the pressure of the dogs or like driving means. As shown, the flange A is recessed at B and is moulded to provide radial ribs C which are encased with metal reinforcements D outwardly flanged portions E of which are embedded in the material cf the flange. In a modification (not shown), the flange is moulded with circular recesses in which are embedded metal eyelets.
