Abstract

Alloys of aluminium with an alkali metal or an alkaline earth metal (defined as including beryllium, magnesium and zinc as well as calcium, strontium and barium) are obtained electrolytically. Specified alloys obtained are of the following percentage compositions (a) aluminium 51.7, calcium 48.3 with negligible traces of silicon (b) aluminium 12.96, remainder calcium (c) magnesium 65, aluminium 35 (d) 87.1, barium 8.9, aluminium 4.
