Abstract

699,498. Scissors; combs. READ, W. Dec. 29, 1952 [Dec. 28, 1951], No. 30259/51. Classes 30 and 131 A guard for hair-cutting scissors comprises a pair of toothed sidemembers which are connected together and have means at each end to secure and centralize one blade of the scissors within the guard. As shown, the guard is formed from sheet material and comprises parallel combs 4, 5 connected together at each end. A pair of lugs 6 are bent up from the material forming the combs and engage grooves in the blade 7 of a pair of scissors and an extension 8 of the comb 4 is apertured to receive a screw-threaded pin 9 which is also screwed into a threaded hole in the blade 7 to secure and locate the blade centrally in the guard. In a modification a second pair of lugs replaces the extension 8.
