Abstract

697,218. Automatic feed weighers. TOS HOSTIVAR, NARODNI PODNIK. March 10, 1952 [March 8, 1951], No. 6220/52. Class 143 Material is discharged from the pan of an automatic feed weigher by means of a conveyer belt which lies slack in the scale pan until the required weight has been supplied from a feed hopper. The belt is then tightened and driven and the load is removed. The belt 15, when slack, lies in the bottom of a channel-shaped pan 7 suspended from the beam 1 of the weigher. Material is supplied from a hopper 28 under the control of a pivoted gate 29. At a predetermined load, unspecified apparatus shuts off the feed, locks the scale pan and causes the pulleys 16, 17 to swing outwards to the position shown. This tensions the belt, raising it clear of the scale pan, and, since pulley 16 is driven via gearing from a rope 23, the belt is moved to discharge its load. In a modification, Figs. 4 and 5 (not shown), both tensioning pulleys are idlers, a third pulley providing the drive. It is stated that the belt may be driven in one direction for correct loads, and in the other for incorrect loads, or for selective sampling,
