Abstract

693,973. Lighting fittings. EDISON SWAN ELECTRIC CO, Ltd., and WILMAN, D. June 6, 1951 [June 7, 1950], No. 14223/50. Class 75(iv) A means for mounting tubular lamp luminaires in continuous end-to-end relationship comprises a' junction member 1 securable to a plane surface and arranged to interfit on each side with an appendant member 9 which in turn interfits with an ancillary equipment channel 12 attachable to a ceiling plate 13, reflecting or diffusing means being supportable on the junction member 1 and its pair of appendant members 9, continuous wiring-ducts 8 being combined with the junction member 1 to extend internally of the luminaire along its entirety, and the junction member 1 and appendant members 9 having suitable mask members 14 to enhance the external appearance. As shown the appendant members 9 are each cast with a guide way 11 to fit over a securing lug 6 of the junction member 1 to which the member 9 and mask portion 14 are screwed. Angle lugs 10 cast on the members 9 support angle-strips 16 which serve to support reflecting or diffusing means. The wiring- ducts 8 co-operate with.and are secured to channel section lugs 5, cast on member 1 which serve also to support the ceiling plate 8.
