Class 18 A moulded egg carton comprises hinged lid members carrying extensions 10, the extensions 10 having portions lOx which engage between posts 5 separating the egg cells, to retain the lid members closed. The portions 10x may carry tongues 13 for entry into slots in the sides of the posts. The rim of the carton may be stepped as at 6x, whereby horizontally adjacent cartons packed in a crate with their rims overlapping; may lie in the same horizontal plane.
