Abstract

692,021. Reservoirs for bottle capsules; dispensing devices. DUNLOP, R. B. March 18, 1949 [Feb. 18, 1948], No. 4840/48. Classes 18, 125(ii) and 125(iii) A magazine for skirted closure caps e.g. for milk bottles, comprises a tubular holder 1 mounted on a base plate 3 and having a tubular extension 4 at its upper end secured by a bayonet fastening 7, 8, the extension having inwardly sloping indentations 5 spaced equidistantly around its top edge. Inside the tube 1 is a plunger 10 which is urged upwardly by a spring 11 and which can be pressed down and held in its lowest position by a handle 12. In use, the magazine is loaded by removing the extension 4 and placing a stack of nested caps 9 in the tube to rest on the lowered plunger 10. The extension is replaced and the plunger released, the top cap being retained by the indentations 5 which engage its skirt 9a. To remove a cap a lifting force is applied to the top cap, for example, by a suction grip, the skirt 9a being slightly deformed as it passes over the indentations which then retain the next cap as the stack is fed forward by the spring 11.
