690,726. Kinematograph apparatus. STEATIT-MAGNESIA AKT.-GES. July 2, 1951 [April 21, 1951], No. 15645/51. Class 97 (i). A film gate has fixed guides for one edge of a film inserted laterally without opening the gate, guides for the other edge being movable to permit insertion of the film. As shown, one gate member 2 has a channel 2a and an aperture 3. The other member is pivoted about a horizontal axis at the bottom and is detachably secured at its upper end so as to be retractable for cleaning but is left in position during film threading. The film is engaged by fixed edge guides 4, 5 and other edge guides 8, 9 formed as bent-up end portions of pivoted levers 6, 7.
