Abstract
689,699. Thrashing machines; combine harvester. DHOTEL, P., and MANUFACTURE DE MACHINES DE MOTOCULTURE. June 6,1950 [Aug. 9, 1949], No. 14131/50. Classes 6(iii) and 58 A harvester-thresher machine comprises in combination a vehicle whose rear wheels 4 and front wheels 2 are the steering wheels and driving wheels respectively, between which set of wheels the engine 6 is disposed at right angles to the longitudinal axis of the vehicle, the said engine being connected on the one hand through a clutch to the driving wheels and on the other to the moving members of the machine a frame 3 to the front of which is hinged at 8 a frontally operating cutter 7 and to the rear a thresher 9, a crop belt conveyer or other elevator is disposed on one side of the frame parallel to its longitudinal axis to pass the crops from the cutter to the thresher. As shown the crops after being harvested by a reel rotatable on an adjustable shaft 47 and having rotatable back-beaters 46 and a cutter 7 having a frontally operating cutter bar 7a and mounted to hinge about an axis 8 on the frames 3 being operated in this movement by a control lever 41 via quadrants 34, 34<SP>1</SP> (not shown) on the lift arms of the tractor and rockable about axes 35, 35<SP>1</SP> (not shown) on each side of frame 1 and connected by chains 37, 37<SP>1</SP> (not shown) respectively to correspondingly positioned toothed quadrants 36, 36<SP>1</SP> (not shown) having arms 39 connected by limb 40 to the cutter, are transported by the elevator 10 to the thresher 9 comprising a beater 64 and concave 65 below which a screw 70 is mounted on a crank shaft 71 on which the shakers 72 are mounted for transporting the threshed corn and chaff to the cleaning device 88, 89 from which the unthreshed corn is taken by elevator 76 and returned to the thresher, the chaff is blown by fan 90 through opening 91 and the cleaned corn is brought by screw 80 to the elevator 79 which discharges into a corn tank 97 or on to a sacking platform alongside or on swinging. the elevator outwards about pivot 95 to a vehicle. An oppositely rotating screw 94 feeds from the bottom of the corn tank to the elevator 79.
