Abstract
689,567. Radiators for heating buildings. MISSENARD, F. A. April 1, 1949, No. 8941/49. Addition to 672,643. Class 64 (ii) In one modification of the method of heating room spaces as described in the parent Specification, a nonconducting translucent or transparent radiating surface is associated with each heating surface. In another modification, one or each radiating surface 38, e.g. of metal, of fibrous material such as cardboard or of synthetic resin, is associated with a number of heating surfaces 22 at least one of which is spaced from the radiating surface. The surfaces 22 are hot-fluid pipes and, in order to determine the distribution of heat to the upper and lower portions of the room respectively, one or more of the pipes may contact the screen 38. In the case of a metal screen, this increases the heating of the upper portion of the room. The pipes 22 may support a screen 38 in the form of a number of curved segments 24, each open at one end where they rest on the walled-end of an adjacent segment and walls 26 at the other end having notches 29 in which the pipes fit.
