Abstract
686,119. Hypodermic syringes. PEIRCE & CO. (LONDON), Ltd., E. J., and HATRICK, D. L. March 13, 1951 [March 13, 1950], No. 6279/50. Class 81 (ii). In a hypodermic syringe one or both metal mounts 4, 5 are secured to the glass of the barrel 1 by a glue having a synthetic resin base. The mounts 4, 5 are slightly larger than the external diameter of the barrel 1, the space between each mount 4 or 5 and the barrel 1 being filled with sheet material 2, 3, e.g. aluminium or other metal foil, asbestos paper or plastic, wound on the barrel 1 in layers until the desired thickness is obtained. Synthetic resin glue is applied over the end surfaces of the barrel and the outside surfaces of the packing material and the mounts are pressed into position. The glue is then cured, e.g. at a temperature of 120‹ C. or 200‹ C. for 1 hour.
