Abstract

685,165. Lathe details. HARDINGE BROS., Inc. Oct. 9, 1950, No. 24592/50. Class 83 (iii). A reciprocating-gripper particularly for screwmachines comprises spring-fingers 11 spaced apart by slots 12 formed with enlargements 20 adjacent the outer ends thereof for receiving a key 24 used for spreading the fingers, and workengaging pads 15 connected to the end-portions of the fingers, the pads and fingers being spaced apart adjacent the enlargements 20 to form spaces 31 for receiving the head 28 of the key and preventing it from moving out of the enlargements. The enlargements 20 may be formed in one side only of the slots 12 which are also provided at their inner ends with enlargements 13. Spigots 17 are provided for locating the pads 15 in recesses 16 in the fingers.
