684,421. Variable-pitch propellers. STANTON, P. G. March 27, 1951. [March 27, 1950] No. 7603/50. Class 114. Gears 18 formed on the roots of the propeller blades are engaged by racks on the sliding operating rod 12. These racks are formed by separate discs 20, each having teeth equal to the number of blades and held together by a spring 24. The discs being spaced closer than the gear teeth, these latter are closely engaged by the spring pressure.
