Abstract

684,343. Printing-surfaces. ROTAPRINT AKT.-GES. May 18, 1950 [July 9, 1949], No. 12443/50. Class 100 (ii). By means of a device for securing a printing sheet to the printing drum of a printing machine, especially for offset printing, a printing sheet, such as a metal sheet M, provided with a row of holes, can be secured by a row of hooks H, arranged within a groove-like receiving pocket L which opens 'towards the periphery of the drum, and which contains additionally one or more guiding projections which engage with corresponding recesses in the sheet to effect centering thereof, the depth of the pocket being such that the sheet, after insertion therein, is brought with the edge having the row of holes into a correct position in relation to the hooks, so that on turning the sheet over on to the drum, it is pushed on to the hooks and kept thereon. The edge of the sheet tends to slide up the outer wall of the pocket, thus securing the sheet firmly on the hooks. The centering projection K extends centrally from the pocket and engages a central recess in the edge of the sheet. The recess and projection are provided with parallel flanks.
