683,680. Electric correspondence control systems. SOC. FRANCAISE D'EQUIPEMENTS POUR LA NAVIGATION AERIENNE S.F.E.N.A. Aug. 17, 1951 [April 30, 1951], No. 19483/51. Class 40 (i) [Also in Group XXXV] Apparatus for transmitting the magnitude of the angular displacement of a shaft comprises a flat, inclined, soft-iron disc secured to the shaft which on rotation varies the coupling between two coaxial coils, one of which is in three equal, delta-connected sections fed from a similar receiver stator winding, the receiver rotor being A.C. fed, and mechanically driven by a motor fed with the amplified output of the second transmitter winding. The receiver (Figs. 2, 3) comprises a laminated rotor 21 carrying a winding 22 fed with A.C., surrounded by a three-section, delta-connected toroidal winding on the stator 29. The transmitter (Figs. 1, 3) comprises a similar threesection, delta-connected toroidal winding 7 on the stator 6, symmetrically connected with the threesection receiver stator winding, a cylindrical winding 14, and the flat, inclined, soft-iron disc 5 attached to the movable shaft 2 carrying, as shown the magnet 17 of a compass. The energized receiver rotor winding 22 induces voltages in the three-section stator winding which are reproduced at the transmitter to induce a voltage in the cylindrical winding 14 which is dependent in magnitude on the angular position of the softiron disc 5. The output voltage of this winding 14 is amplified at 30 to energize a 2-phase motor 28 to drive the receiver rotor 21, and a pointer 24, until the voltage in winding 14 is eliminated.
