Abstract
<PICT:0681188/III/1> <PICT:0681188/III/2> A dip-coating apparatus comprises a dipping chamber bounded along a substantial part of its perimeter by a wall lower than that around the rest of its perimeter, an overflow chamber on the opposite side of the lower wall and means for transfering liquid from the overflow chamber to the dipping chamber, the transferred liquid entering the dipping chamber at or being directed towards, a part of the said chamber remote from the said lower wall, so as to produce a continuous movement of liquid over the whole surface of the dipping chamber. Referring to the drawings, the liquid is circulated in Fig. 2 by impellers 17 which pass it continuously from space 15 into dipping chamber 12 over the edge of low wall 11 and thence into space 15. In Fig. 4 pump 28 draws liquid from the overflow chamber 26 through pipes 29 and 31 to manifold 24 and thence into dipping chamber 27.
