681,185. Making concrete-reinforcing bars. McCALLS MACALLOY, Ltd. July 31, 1950 [Oct. 17, 1949], No. 26660/49. Classes 83 (ii) and 83 (iv). Altering molecular structure.-Rolled high carbon, silicon and manganese steel rod is stretched to raise the yield point and reduce the ductility. Rolled steel rod for use in prestressed concrete and composed of 0.5-0.65 per cent carbon, 1.5-2.0 per cent silicon and 0.8-1.2 per cent manganese is elongated by about 4-5 per cent.
