Abstract

The invention comprises dyes obtainable by (1) condensing two mols 1-amino-5-o-chlor-benzoylaminoanthraquinone with one mol. of an aromatic dicarboxylic acid reactive derivative, or (2) condensing two or three mols of the same anthraquinone with one mol. of an aromatic tricarboxylic acid reactive derivative or one mol. of a cyanuric halide, and condensing further with an aromatic amine in the case where only two mols of the anthraquinone are employed. In examples, 1-amino-5-(o-chlor-benzoyl)-aminoanthraquinone is reacted with the chlorides of (1) terephthalic acid, (2) diphenyl-4,41-dicarboxylic acid, (3) isophthalic acid, (4) trimesic acid, (5) cyanuric chloride, (6) cyanuric chloride and 1-aminoanthraquinone, (7) cyanuric chloride and aniline, (8) thianthrene dicarboxylic acid, (9) fluoranthene dicarboxylic acid. In a dyeing example, cotton is dyed with the product of (2). The products generally dye cotton yellow or brown shades. Other acids specified are naphthalene dicarboxylic acids, e.g. the 2,6-, benzanthrone dicarboxylic acids, e.g. the 2,6- or Bz. 1,6-acids, anthraquinone 2,6- or 2,7-dicarboxylic acids, diphenylene oxide or sulphide dicarboxylic acid.
