Abstract

678,338. Stiffeners for revers points. DANIKEN, K. VON. Aug. 25, 1950 [March 4, 1950], No. 21028/50. Class 141. A stiffener for a revers point comprises a flexible ribbon 1, Fig. 1, with smooth rounded ends 2, 3 and undercut notches 4 in its side edges at the rear third part of the ribbon, the notches 4 being adapted to catch and hold stitches used to connect together layers of fabric forming the revers point and thereby prevent substantial movement of the stiffener when in position. The stiffener 1, Fig. 3, is introduced between the layers 5 of the fabric by means of a probe 6 wider than the stiffener 1 and on withdrawal of the probe 6, the stitches 7 are caught and retained in the notches 4.
