Abstract

677,414. Photographic developing apparatus. KODAK, Ltd. Dec. 28, 1950 [Dec. 29, 1949], No. 31497/50. Class 98 (ii). The apparatus comprises a pair of spaced endless chains movable through a processing tank and formed with pairs of aligned, inwardly extending pins, and a film hanger consisting of a pair of rods, each of which is formed of telescoping members normally spring-pressed apart, detachably connected to longitudinally spaced pairs of aligned pins for movement with the chains through the processing tank, means for detachably connecting opposite ends of a film to said rods, and means for tensioning the film between said rods. The apparatus may comprise several processing tanks through which the film is passed by a pair of endless chains 12, Fig. 2, which are continuously moved at the same speed so that pins 14 thereon remain in alignment. Rods 20, each of which fits over the aligned pins of a pair, support at intervals along the length of the chains film sheets 32. Each rod 20 consists of telescoping tubes 21, 22, Fig. 5, which are normally held apart by a spring 28 anchored at 29 to tube 22 and pressing against a rod 24 which slides within tube 22 and is secured at 25 to tube 21. The upper rod 20 has clips 31 thereon from which the film sheet 32 is suspended and the lower rod 20 is spring connected at 35 to a bar 34 having clips 33 therein for attachment to the film. In a modification, Fig. 3 (not shown), one member of the upper rod has roll film spools rotatably mounted thereon and the free end of each film passes through a slot in a bar spring connected to the lower rod. This bar has several pins which pass through the slots and through holes in the free ends of the films.
