Abstract
675,052. Blasting fuzes. CANADIAN INDUSTRIES, Ltd. April 6, 1950. No. 8697/50. Class 9 (i). The ventless delay electric blasting cap described in Specification 651,552 is provided with a delay composition 5 consisting of 70-75 per cent by weight of red lead, 30-12 per cent by weight of silicon and 0-18 per cent by weight of an inert diluent. The diluent may be silicon dioxide. For a uniform spacing of “ inch between the delay element 4 and the sulphur plug 9, a table is given showing the mean burning rates for various lengths of three compositions each containing 70 per cent of red lead but differing proportions of silicon and silicon dioxide.
