674,547. Furniture frames and joints; seats. HUBERT, W. J. May, 24 1950. No. 13039/50. Class 52 (ii). A tubular chair provided with a fabric seat and back is constructed from a single length of tubing the free contiguous ends of which are so joined coaxially as to permit their separation for mounting and dismounting the fabric seat and back 6. As shown the free ends of the tubing meet coaxially at 11 and are there connected by means of a plug insert the free ends when separated permitting the tubing to be threaded through loops 15 ... 18 of the seat and back and the width of the fabric back rest is such as to tend to keep the free ends of the tubing together. Various forms of plug insert are described such as one having one end tapered.to jamb into one free end of the tubing and having its other end cylindrical so as to slide in the cylindrical and other free end of the tubing.
