673,118. Fishing rods. HAMRE, G. L., and HAMRE, A. I. Oct. 14, 1949, No. 26459/49. Class 48. A fishing rod 18 made of permanently bowed relatively non-resilient material is bent intermediate its ends to form a helical coil 21, a handle 10 being attached at one end and a line-guiding eye at the other end. The rod 18 is made of wire and is secured to a cylindrical coupling which engages in a socket 12 in the handle 10, a transverse pin in the socket engaging in a slot in the inner end of the coupling to orient the rod relatively to a reel 14 on the handle. The axis of the helical spring is aligned with the axis of the socket and is offset from the rod 18 itself.
