A hand-operated silk screen apparatus for printing on the curved surfaces of bottles, cans or other solids of revolution comprises a screen 10 .of bolting silk stretched on a wooden frame 11 hinged at 12 to a metal trolley 13 which runs on wheels 19 along a runway comprising channels formed in rail members 14, 15 mounted on slotted struts 17 on a base 16. The rail members are permanently inclined at 15‹ to the horizontal and are vertically adjustable by means of the struts 17. The object 21 to be printed on is rotatably supported on wheels 20, which may be varied in size, mounted freely on spindles 22, 23, being axially retained by adjustable stops 31. The spindle 23 is adjustable by means of a handle 26 having slots 29 to engage a pin 28 on a fixed bracket 24, according to the diameter of the object, and to discharge the object after printing on to a chute 27. A stencil is inserted beneath the screen, which is then pressed down against the object 21 and pushed down the runway, thereby rotating the object for printing, paint, ink or the like being applied to the screen where it contacts the object by a squeegee 41 pivoted on a bar 40 fixed between supports 37. The blade 42 is of flexible rubber. Springs 36 support the upper end of the frame 11, which is also biassed upwards along the runway by a spring 35 and a cord 33 attached at its other end to the trolley 13. For printing on solids of revolution having concave or convex surfaces, the frame 11 and blade 42 are shaped to conform to the surface.
