Abstract

667,714. Fishing devices. LAMBEEK, J. Jan. 20, 1950, No. 1600/50. Class 48. A landing net 4 and a net 16 for holding the catch comprising a plurality of rectangles 11 formed by hinged wires and suspended from each other by cords 12-15, the whole being covered by netting are stowed in folded condition in a hollow rod 10 which serves as a handle for the landing net and has slots 6 which receive bent portions 7, 7<SP>1</SP> on the spring arms 1, 1<SP>1</SP> of the landing net. The slots 6 receive the bent portions 7, 7' both when the net is stowed and when erected for use. The rod has additional slots 9, 9' which receive additional bent portions 8, 8<SP>1</SP> on the spring arms only when the net is erected for use. Both sets of slots 6, 9 may be formed in a metal ferrule on the rod. The arms 1, 1<SP>1</SP> are formed by a single wire with spring turns at its angular point 5 and the ends 2, 2<SP>1</SP> of the arms are connected by a cord 3. In stowing the landing net the ends 2, 2<SP>1</SP> of the arms are inserted first into the rod. The rod may be a section of a fishing rod.
