667,515. Drawers. BRITISH THOMSONHOUSTON CO., Ltd. April.5, 1950. [April 16, 1949] No. 8582/50. Class 52 (i). [Also in Group XIII] A drawer 6 adapted to move within a re. frigerated compartment 3 has its supports 23 slidably engaging guides 22 disposed outside the compartment to prevent frosting of the sliding surfaces. The drawer for storing frozen food is fixed to a front vertical insulated portion 9 so as to be spaced on all sides from the walls of the compartment 3, which is maintained at about 0‹F by evaporator coils 16. L-shaped members 23 welded to the front 9 of the drawer slide in the channels 22 carried by brackets 21 in the machinery space 15, being supported at the front on rollers 30 and carrying rollers 29 at the back running in the channels 22. The drawer is moved by a handle 13 which also actuates a latch 12, and a seal 10 is provided between the front 9 and the cabinet. In a modification instead of being in the machine space the guides 22 are fixed to the outer wall 2 of the cabinet in compartments arranged in the insulation space at the side of and separated by insulation from the compartment 3, and the support is U-shaped plan. The rear end of each channel is inclined at 31 to assist in moving the drawer to its closed position.
