Abstract

A growth-promoting substance for plants and their seeds, strikings and sets consists of or contains cell-multiplying substances extracted from succulents, opuntias or cacti. The substance may also contain additional growth promoters, e.g. those derived from arnica, or capsella bursa-bursis pastoris with or without finely comminuted dried olive leaves. An example describes the use of French fig cactus as the starting material. The substance may be applied in the bulk treatment of seeds and tubers in dormant condition by coating and/or impregnation.
