Abstract

A sulphonamide of formula <FORM:0666073/IV (b)/1> where R is the camphor radical, is prepared by treatment of 1-phenyl-2-methylaminopropanol with a sulphonyl chloride RSO2Cl in the presence of a solvent, e.g. benzene, toluene, xylene or an ether. Two examples of the process are given in which the group R is derived from b - and p -camphor respectively. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises the additional information that R may be aromatic or any terpinic radical. Examples are given in which R is phenyl, p-tolyl, and b -naphthyl. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
