657,151. Vehicle wheels. HENDERSON, R. D. Jan. 17, 1949, No. 1245. [Class 144 (i)] A device for supporting a wheel during tyremanipulation comprises a stepped cone 16 slidable, on a spring-support 17, along a shaft 12 projecting from a base 14, the steps on the cone being graduated to fit different-sized wheel centres 35. The wheel being assembled on the cone, with the lower rim-edge 36 resting on the base 14, a spring-pressed pin 22 engages one of the bolt-holes 25 of the wheel to prevent its rotation during tyre-manipulation. Outward travel of the cone 16 is limited by stops 34, on the pivoted sleeve 19 of the pin 22, co-operating with fingers 33 on the cone.
