Abstract
655,769. Fumigating. ELVY, F. J., and CIMEX, Ltd. April 14, 1948, No. 10424. [Class 81 (i)] A device for the production of a fumigating mixture comprises means whereby D.D.T. is vaporized by the combustion of a sulphur candle. In one form the sulphur block 1 is contained in a cardboard box 2 and has a paper or other cover 3. A wick 4 is provided to facilitate ignition and the D.D.T. 6 is placed in one or more tubes 5 extending the full depth of the sulphur block, the arrangement being such that the D.D.T. is given off at a definite rate proportional to the rate of combustion of the sulphur. Aggregate crystals having at least one crystal of D.D.T. associated with each sulphur crystal are said to be formed.
