<PICT:0655729/III/1> In a dry-cleaning machine of the kind having a non-rotary outer casing 2 and a rotary inner cage 1, and provided with doors 11, 12 at both ends, the outer casing (and with it the inner cage) is adapted to be tilted bodily, in a longitudinal direction, so that the goods may fall to the lower end (either by their own weight or by a series of "inching" movements of the rotary cage) where they may fall out or be easily extracted by hand. The outer casing may be mounted on pivots 17 at one end and tilted by means of a screw or hydraulic jack or a pneumatic cylinder 18. The casing may alternatively be pivoted at any point along its length. The connections for washing liquors and electric power and the waste outlet are made flexible or disconnectable or may be through suitable joints in the pivots 17. In the example 13 is a fixed waste pipe and 14 a fixed supply pipe, forming continuations of a moving outlet valve 15 (operated by a pedal 15a) and inlet pipe 16 respectively.
