Abstract

Anthraquinone derivatives of the following formul are sulphonated: <FORM:0652448/IV (c)/1> <FORM:0652448/IV (c)/2> wherein R1 is hydrogen or alkyl, X is hydrogen or halogen, Y is hydrogen or sulpho if X is hydrogen, and is hydrogen or halogen if X is halogen, Z is hydrogen, acetyl, or carbalkoxy, and R2 is phenylcyclohexyl-, benzylcyclohexyl-, or 1.2.3.4-tetrahydronaphthyl. The products dye wool, e.g. felt, silk or nylon in a sulphuric acid bath blue shades. In examples, the following substances are sulphonated in sulphuric acid monohydrate, oleum or chlorsulphonic acid: (1) 1 - amino - 4 - (11.21.31.41 - tetrahydro - 21 - naphthylamino) anthraquinone-2-sulphonic acid or by its 6.7-dichlor, 6- or 7-chlor or brom, 2.6-, 2.5-, 2.7- or 2.8-disulpho derivatives; (2) 1-amino-4-(41-phenylhexahydroanilido) -anthraquinone-2-sulphonic acid or its 6- or 7-chlor- or brom-derivatives; (3) 1-amino-4-(21-, 31- or 41 - phenylhexahydroanilido) anthraquinone - 2.5-, 2.6-, 2.7- or 2.8-disulphonic acids; (4) 1-amino-4-(11.21.31.41-tetrahydro-11 -naphthylamino) - anthraquinone - 2 - sulphonic acid; (5) 1-amino-4-(21- or 31- or 41-benzylhexahydroanilido) anthraquinone-2-sulphonic acid; (6) 4 - (11.21.31.41 - tetrahydro - 21 - naphthylamino) - 1.9-C-carboethoxyanthrapyridone-2-sulphonic acid or its 6- or 7-halo or 6.7-dihalo derivatives; (6) 4-(11.21.31.41-tetrahydro-11 -naphthylamino)-1.9-C-carboethoxy-anthrapyridone-2-sulphonic acid; (7) 4-(21- or 31- or 41-phenyl or benzylhexahydroanilido)-1.9-C-acetyl or carbethoxyanthrapyridone-2-sulphonic acid or one of its salts; (8) N-methyl- or ethyl-4-(41-phenylhexahydroanilido) - 1.9 - anthrapyridone - 2 - sulphonic acid.
