Abstract

652,066. Television. ELECTRIC & MUSICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd. July 16, 1948, No. 19103. Drawings to Specification. [Class 40 (iii)] [Also in Group XL (c)] In apparatus in which operations are effected under the control of regularly-occurring synchronizing pulses, interference due to extraneous noise pulses is reduced by integrating the incoming synchronizing and noise pulses and applying them to a limiter which produces an output when the integrated pulse attains a predetermined amplitude, this output signal is then delayed so that the operation is effected in coincidence with the next succeeding unintegrated synchronizing pulse. The apparatus is described in its application to a television system in which noise pulses occurring during the line synchronizing period are prevented from causing errors in synchronization. To maintain synchronization in the event of a failure in, for example, the delay circuit apparatus the unintegrated synchronizing pulses may be applied after a very short further delay to the line scanning generator so that on failure of the delayed integrated pulse, the scanning generator will be synchronized after a short time interval.
