Abstract
651,389. Cleaning eggs. GWIN, J. M., and GWIN, D. R. Dec. 30, 1948, No. 33512. Convention date, Jan. 14. [Class 28(ii)] Eggs are cleaned by being constantly revolved against scraping edges 13 forming part of a framework of flexible or rigid strips- 26 carried by cross pieces 13. which framework overlies an upwardly moving belt 24 passing over a fixed plate 25. The motion of the belt 24 continuously rotates the eggs which are hence cleaned against the scraping edges 13. The scrapers 13 of the framework 13, 26 are secured to side pieces 10 of a support having cross-rods 11, the inclination of which support can be adjusted, the belt passing through a liquidcontaining tank at its lowest point of travel. The scrapers 13 may have bent edges, and the belt 24 may have ridges on its surface to agitate the eggs.
