Abstract
649497 Darning SELLAR D 3 Dec 1948 31407 [Class 112] A darning device comprises two comblike members 14, 14A, with hooks 15 on the ends of the teeth to receive loops of warp thread and slotted cams 11, 11A on their rear parts, and a lever 8 to operate them in opposite directions to form a shed for easy insertion of the weft. In the form shown, the combs are pivoted on a rod 13 in a housing mounted on a base 2, which is stepped at 1 and formed at 16 to fit into a peripheral groove in a mushroom or like device over which the work is stretched. The lever 8 is mounted on a rod 5, and carries a pin 7 engaging slots 6 in the cams, the slots in the two cams being oppositely inclined.
