Abstract
Steel or other metal shells have a lining of non-ferrous metal which is centrifuged into position and then cooled, (see Group XXII), the lining comprising a plurality of layers which are introduced into the shell in decreasing order of melting point, an intermediate centrifuging and, if necessary, a partial cooling being effected between successive introductions of lining metal. An intermediate bonding layer, e.g. of copper, may be formed between the lining, which may comprise a mixture of copper and lead, and the shell.
