Abstract

647,442. Radio receiving apparatus. SHAND, G., McQUEEN, J. G., and METROPOLITANVICKERS ELECTRICAL CO., Ltd. July 8, 1948, No. 18410. [Class 40 (v)] In an electrical screening enclosure for radio apparatus and the like, of the type having a removable electrically-conductive cover 4 arranged to fit within or around the walls of an opening in the enclosure 5, the cover is provided along its periphery with inturned flanges 6 carrying a plurality of springy metal fingers 7, each finger being curved outwardly away from the flange to make contact with the walls of the enclosure, the flange 6 protecting the contact fingers from damage when the cover is removed. The contact fingers 7 may be formed by slotting a strip of suitable metal as shown in Fig. 3, the strip then being secured to the flanges of the cover. Figs. 4, 5 and 6 (not shown) show alternative arrangements of the contact fingers and cover.
