Abstract
647,073. Automatic exchange systems. STAATSBEDRIJF DER POSTERIJEN TELEGRAFIE EN TELEFONIE. Dec. 30, 1947, No. 34846. Convention date, Sept. 3, 1945. [Class 40 (iv)] In a line circuit in which a series circuit through resistances W1 . . . W4 when the line is looped provides the necessary calling and busy potentials, additional resistances W5, W6, together with rectifiers S1, S2, are provided for indicating the class or identity of the line. When the line is found by a line finder OZ, a resistance W9 connected to the test wiper d in series with W6 changes the potential of the d wire sufficiently to render S1 non-conducting, so that the characteristics of the calling line depend only on W6. Similarly, when the line is seized by a final selector EK, a resistance W7 is connected to the test wiper c with similar effect. The arrangement may be used for determining the number of a line in a group of 100 lines, the tens and units digits being indicated by the potentials on the d and c wires respectively.
