Abstract

644,672. Hopper discharge. STEWART, I, F., ASHCROFT, D. G., and IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd. May 3, 1948, No. 12068. [Class 78 (i)] Disc 31 rotates so that the grooves 33 formed in leading edges of its spokes 41 pass through slot 30 cut in hopper base 28 so that the articles are carried upwards in the groove and are then slid off and deflected into orifice 36 by plate 39 fixed in the end of the groove. The grooves 31 and plates 39 may be arranged on both sidefaces of disc 31 so as to discharge into two orifices 36. Several discs side-by-side may discharge from several hoppers as in Fig. 2.
