Abstract

641,269. Thermal switches. EGA ELECTRIC, Ltd., and KILMINSTER, G. Aug. 2, 1947, No. 20304/48. Divided out of 641,255. [Class 38(v)]. An overload switch for a three-phase or other circuit has a heater 20, 21, 22 associated with each of the phases, and a bimetallic strip 10, 11 or 12 for each of the heaters, the ends of the strips moving in slots in a bar 30 so that with an overload in any of the phases, the corresponding bimetallic strip after a little lost motion actuates the bar to cause a flexiblymounted contact 28 to separate from a fixed contact 27. Setting for a different value of overload is effected by reversing the bar 30, the section 35 of which differs in length from the section 36.
