[Class 81 (ii)] [Also in Group XX] A screen for X- rays or gamma rays comprises a series of hollow bodies in nested arrangement, the mating surfaces of which enclose solid angles having their apices coincident at the source of radiation. In the form described, the screen is made up of a series of hollow conical frustums 1- 5, fitted within each other, the apical angles of which are coincident at the point of radiation. The minimum depth of the frustums is sufficient to ensure adequate absorption of the rays and the area exposed may be varied by removing the appropriate number of internal sections. They may be mounted on a pivoted support to facilitate positioning them over the patient.
