638,762. Preserving fruits &c. PEDERSEN, V. N. Oct. 18, 1947, No. 27942. Convention date, Sept. 30, 1938. [Class 49] [Also in Group XVII] In preserving fruits &c. in a liquid, e.g., plums in juice, in a container 10 having a removable lid 12, there is employed a length of spring wire 16 in the form of an upholstery spring, one end 20 engaging the lid of the container, e.g., within a cavity formed by a collar 22 on the lid, and the other end, which terminates in a flat spiral coil 18, keeping the fruits &c. submerged in the liquid. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91, comprises also any holder adapted to engage the inner wall, preferably the lid, of the container, and to keep the fruits &c. submerged. This subjectmatter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
