Abstract

638,233. Animal traps. BROWN, C. D. Dec. 9, 1947, No. 32419. [Class 5 (i)] Aligned and abutting pivoted platforms 6, 7 are held up by catches 23 until the animal having passed over the longer platform 6 on its way to the bait chamber 10 tilts the rear platform 7. The catches 23, engaging beneath bevelled lateral projections on the platform 6, are formed by the ends of rods 21 which pass-through guides 22 and are secured to pins 20 on cranks 19 depending from the rotary pivot 17. After the animal has fallen into the tank 4 weights 14, 24 restore the platforms to the horizontal and the catches 23 to locking position.
