Abstract
A layer of liquid streaming down one or both faces of a plate or wall, such as are used in evaporators, air filters and the like, is collected at the bottom by a series of inclined channels C1, C3, C5 and C2, C4, C6, whose width may be <PICT:0637746/III/1> <PICT:0637746/III/2> about 4 to 5 mms. and down which the liquid runs to a collecting pan G. A similar device may be arranged at the top of a wall to spread a layer of liquid over it, the lower ends of the channels being arranged across the plate for this purpose. The channels may be arranged in herring-bone fashion on the plate.
