635,120. Photographic diazotype material. GENERAL ANILINE & FILM CORPORATION. March 31, 1948, No. 9137. Convention date, June 6, 1947. [Class 98 (ii)] Diazotype material for producing a cyan image comprises a transparent support carrying a light-sensitive diazo compound derived from an N-substituted phenylene diamine and an azo-coupling component of the general formula wherein R is OH, NH 2 , acylamino, alkylamino, or arylamino Numerous azo-coupling components are specified. The diazo compound may be derived from p-amino-N-diethyl-otoluidine, 4 - diethylamino - o - phenetidine, or p - - (N e-thyl: N - #- hydroxyethylamino)- otoludine, and may be used in the form of the zinc, cadmium, or tin chloride double salt, of the fluoroborate, or of the alkyl or aryl sulphonate. The sensitizing solution may be in water or aqueous-alcohol and may contain the usual additions. The support may be of cellulose ester. In example 1, a cellulose acetate film is coated with an aqueous-alcohol solution of citric acid, thiourea, 1: 8-dihydroxynaphthalene-4-sulphonic acid, and the zinc chloride double salt of diazotized 4-diethylamino-ophenetidine. In examples 2 and 3, 1-hydroxy- 8 - aminonaphthalene - 4 - sulphonic acid and 1 - hydroxy - 8 - acetylaminonaphthalene - 4 - sulphonic acid are used as coupling components.
