Abstract

In the continuous crystallization of tar oils, naphthalenic and anthracenic and like oils, the oils are fed to a jacketed container 1 having a funnel-shaped bottom 11 with a rotating discharger 4, the crystals being continuously scraped from the walls by scrapers 8 and discharged with mother liquors through the discharger. Fractional crystallization may be effected by progressively treating the mother liquors separated from the respective discharge products, in a series of containers of different wall temperatures. <PICT:0634225/III/1>
