Abstract

A process for separating a gaseous mixture into its constituents by selective adsorption on solid adsorbents comprises alternate adsorption and desorption stages, the latter being of greater duration than the former. Desorption of a number of adsorbers connected in parallel is effected under vacuum, each adsorber having a vacuum pump connected thereto. In examples, the process is applied to carbon monoxide-hydrogen, and methane-hydrogen mixtures using active carbon.
