Abstract

The insulating plates of the arc-chute of an electric switch (see Group XXXVII) are composed of 50 to 100 parts by weight of zircon and 10 to 50 parts by weight of fluxing agents. A preferred composition is zircon-77 parts, Ca CO3-8 parts, Kentucky Ball Clay-10 parts, and Florida Kaolin-10 parts.
