Abstract
629,990. Collapsable baths. KIMEL, E. Sept. 11, 1947, Nos. 24976 and 24977. Convention dates, Sept. 11, 1946 and July 12, 1947. [Class 26] [Also in Group VII] A collapsable bath or douching device comprises a funnel-shaped flexible and water-tight well 2 removably placed on a framework formed by rigid metal frames A-H of generally trapezoidal shape pivotally connected together in an endless assembly which can be folded to superimpose the frames or more or less extended into the shape of a frustum of a cone or a frustum of a pyramid. The frames shown have radial sides 6, 13 of different lengths cranked at 7, 8 and 11, 12 to receive resilient split sleeves, clips or the like 14, 15 and 16, 17 whereby the frames A-D may rest in the frames E-H before being accordion folded. The radial sides of the frames may be telescopically extensible, whilst the wall 2 may be slit to enable it to be folded with the framework and provided with a hem to receive the outer ends of the frames. Rectangular and triangular frames, and alternative means for hinging the frames together, are described and illustrated in the Specification. The central opening 5 of the framework may contain, or rest on the edge or bottom of, a flexible or rigid receptacle 18, or the device may be placed in a sink or against a wall. When inverted, it may be used as a sunshade or umbrella.
